Allerthorpe Parish Council

With almost 1,000 miles (over 1500 km) of public rights of way in the East Riding this complex web of footpaths, bridleways and byways is available for public enjoyment. It offers the most significant opportunity for relaxation and makes a major contribution to health and welfare through healthy recreation and exercise.

We are starting off with three walks in the area:

A Circular Walk from Pocklington

This fascinating walk takes in derelict canal locks, a wooded heath with a nature reserve, and an the old wartime bomber station now used by gliders.

Allerthorpe

These canal walks can be as short, or as long as you want. The British Waterways Board has opened the towpath for public access and the Pocklington Canal Amenity Society is improving facilities in the area.

Short Walk by the Pocklington Canal

These canal walks can be as short, or as long as you want. The British Waterways Board has opened the towpath for public access and the Pocklington Canal Amenity Society is improving facilities in the area.
